Privacy
What Nomney Virtual Closet collects, why, and the choices you have. We collect what is needed to run a working closet-and-marketplace app. Nothing is sold to advertisers, and nothing is tracked for advertising. Last updated September 2026.
What we collect
- Account details — your name, email address, and phone number if you add one. Your password is stored securely and we never see it in plain text.
- Your content — photos of clothing and outfits, item names, categories, sizes and colours, saved looks, style preferences, and messages you send to a store.
- Orders — cart contents, order history, and payment status. Card details are handled by Stripe; we never see or store them.
- Addresses — the delivery address you save, and your store address if you run a store.
- Searches and favourites — saved searches, favourited listings, and saved outfits.
- Notifications — a device token, so we can send you order updates. It is linked to your account and used for nothing else.
- Approximate location — only if you use the automatic weather feature, and only after you grant permission. See below.
- Diagnostics — crash and performance reports, used to fix problems.
We do not build advertising profiles, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell personal information.
How we use it
- To create and secure your account, and let you sign in.
- To run the marketplace — listing items, processing orders, handling payments and payouts, and letting buyers and stores talk about a transaction.
- To power the features you choose to use, like outfit suggestions drawn from your own closet.
- To keep the marketplace safe — reviewing reported listings, enforcing our terms, and preventing fraud.
- To fix bugs and improve reliability.
Location and weather
The app can suggest outfits for the weather where you are. If you use that feature, the app asks for location permission and sends approximate, rounded coordinates to fetch a forecast. The coordinates are used for that request and are not stored by Nomney. A city or postal code you enter by hand stays on your device.
This is the only thing location is used for. Decline the permission and the rest of the app works normally — you can pick the conditions yourself.
Who we share it with
Only what each service needs to do its job. None of them are advertisers or data brokers.
- Supabase — hosts our database, sign-in, and file storage, so it holds account, listing, and order data.
- Stripe — processes payments and store payouts. Stripe, not us, handles card details, and verifies store identity and bank details as financial regulations require.
- WeatherAPI — receives the rounded coordinates or place name needed to return a forecast, and nothing that identifies you.
- Sentry — receives crash and performance reports.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Nomney, our users, or the public.
Camera and photo access
The app asks for camera and photo library access so you can add clothing to your closet. It only reads the images you choose. Photos of items you have not published stay private to your account. Photos on a published listing are visible to anyone browsing it, as you would expect from a marketplace.
Payments
All payment processing is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Stores receive payouts through Stripe Connect, and we do not store their banking information.
How long we keep it
We keep account and order information for as long as your account is active, and afterwards only as long as our legal, tax, and accounting obligations require. When you delete your account we remove or anonymise your personal information, apart from records we are legally required to keep.
Your control
- Edit or remove content — update your profile, remove wardrobe photos, or unpublish a listing at any time.
- Delete your account — from Profile → Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and its data. See Support for the steps.
- Access or correct your data — email us and we will help.
Depending on where you live you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to request a copy of your data or object to certain processing. Email us to exercise them.
Children
Nomney Virtual Closet is not intended for children. You must be 18 or over to have an account, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.
Security
We use encrypted connections, access controls that restrict data to its owner, and server-side checks on every request. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your data as something we are responsible for.
Changes
If we make material changes we will update the date above and, where it matters, tell you in the app.
